What you can control

It is very easy to get caught up in the moment.

What you can controlIt is very easy to get caught up in the moment.

It is very easy to get caught up in the moment.

We tend to believe that what we do today will dramatically affect our future. Most likely that is not the case. In fact, most decisions are not life changing. Most every day is not unique. Most every day will not change your life.

Is that the right mentality to have?

Probably not. Even though life is a long term game, we still must work hard in the short term. We must try and win every day if we want to win the long run.

But it is still extremely valuable to pull back every once in a while and ask yourself “why?” Why do this ? Why do that? Why care about a certain thing?

I think that often times we get caught up in things that do not really matter.

It is really hard to know what does and does not matter, however, and we can never be really sure of what will affect us long term.

I try to focus on what I can control.

But there is often a misalignment stemming from one of two possibilities:

1) we think we can control more than we actually can

2) we think we can control far less than we actually can

Which bucket are you in?
