There are lots of ideas out there in this world. We need ideas. Of course we need doers - people who step up and experiment and build these ideas.
For what it's worth, I generally discount mainstream career advice. It is normally out there to sell you something, rather than provide you actionable strategies for growth.

I think many of us want energy out of our day. We want that spark that gets us excited. That is perhaps biased, but often that is what I want out of my day.
