And I have not missed a day.

It started as a way to keep my daily to-do lists organized but has grown to a variety of things: thoughts/ideas/stories/advice and more.
And after 100 days of keeping these notes, I can strongly recommend it. Here are some things I have gathered as a consequence of this endeavor.
Consistency ~
For this exercise, I truly believe in consistency over quality. (And that may just be me). But I get the most out of writing if I do it every single day. It does not matter if some days there are only 3/5 words or others when there are hundreds — to me, it’s crucial to write something everyday.
As a product of that, I make it as simple as possible for me to record my thoughts. I use Evernote because it is available on all devices (mac, Iphone) and loads quickly. There are no distractions and it supports whatever I want to write/post about.
It’s simple and I like that.
Refreshing~
Writing what you do everyday (publicly or privately) is really really refreshing. Looking back, it is refreshing to see how far you have come. And it gives you a detached perspective to learn from your high highs and the low lows.
I use writing every day to learn from previous emotions. It has helped me better understand my thoughts so that I can convey them better in the future.
YES — there are really good days and really bad days. By writing down both, I can get a full-view of the roller coaster that is life.
I am able to analyze trends in my thoughts. It gives me great perspective so I can make better decisions.
Productive~
Journaling has helped me maintain a high level of productivity. I begin most mornings by bullet-journaling a to-do list of what I want to get done that day.
One-way or another, things manage to get done.
I know I hate seeing things left undone by the time I go to bed at night. Perhaps a silly, but real motivator for me is the pressure of having to add unfinished items to my to-do list for the next day. I hate not finishing things. So using this journal as structure for the madness of my days is really helpful!
