Here at school, there are lots of group projects. Freshman and Sophomore year, especially, we were not allowed to choose who were our partners, and often forced to work with people we had never really met before.
Often times, these group pairings were far from perfect.
We were definitely not the best “chemistry” fit and we had many different working tendencies. The little things often made things difficult.
I realize that…in life, you often will be forced to work with unfamiliar people.
Look at this as a challenge, not a barrier.
This is a new opportunity to learn how to empathize with a brand new type of person.
It can be hard to feel this way in the moment, especially when you do not per say like your team, but it is super valuable long term.
The worst thing you can do is shut down.
