This is another awesome article/resource provided by YCombinator. This time it’s a guideline for building EdTech Products:

INTRODUCTION

These Guidelines for Edtech Products establish a common set of expectations to which Y Combinator will hold edtech companies, particularly student-facing curriculum products. The guidelines have been developed in collaboration among YC / Imagine K12 and the educators making up Imagine K12’s Advisory Board, in consultation with edtech startup founders.

The full guidelines can be found here.

I’m long on the education space. I think there is still a huge gap between technology and schools. We are still far behind our potential. There is a lot of room for people to come in and “disrupt” existing structure hopefully to create a better environment for people to learn.

While many people are building add ons and products for the space, we are still missing something. The struggle still exists and until we can fill the gap, there will be an opportunity to make something happen.
