Pre-requisites to SuccessStruggle & Criticism
Struggle & Criticism
I really want to follow my passion (currently): — build businesses and learn a TON. That is my definition of success. Everyone’s is different. One of the biggest things that I have learned on this journey is that to get to success, you have to go through a lot of apparent bullshit.
Bullshit is anything detracting you from reaching your goal. It takes a lot of different forms — humans, tests, money, politics, the list goes on.
And I have always thought to myself that these were just obstacles in the way of my success. I needed to find a way to get over them (sooner rather than later). And I would do everything in my power to avoid these annoyances. But that is not how you become successful.
Something that I did not realize is that to reach your goal you must go through the bad times.
The prerequisites to success are those times of struggle and criticism. Those moments of despair when the world is turned upside down. And that f**cking two hour customer support phone call you had to make to wire some funds — yeah you have to do that. At first glance, the bullshit is unrelated. But dive deeper — it will help you in the long run.
You see…History repeats itself. The bad stuff is going to come back (at least for now). So the sooner that you learn to live with it and best utilize it to your advantage — the closer you are to success. This “bullshit” is not an obstacle, but rather a required test. My short term goal — pass the tests — so that in the long run I will reach success.
Woah. You read the whole thing! Thank you so much. I’d really appreciate if you shared this with a friend!
