Three Misconceptions:
- You cannot go and “find an idea.” Real problems, hard problems…the ones that are the foundation for 10x companies…Cannot be easily found. Often times, they smack the founder in the face.
2. Entrepreneurship is not easy…Building a company is not like it is on the movies. It’s hard, often terrible. It can take over your life if you are not careful. So if you are not ready for the inevitable failures, you surely will not be ready for the unlikely success.
3. Be nice…Not all great founders are assholes. In fact, most are not. If it weren’t for the outliers, shown in Hollywood, entrepreneurs would be represented as a nice, antisocial guy. But never lose that nice factor — it is always remembered.
