Even though I grew up in the United States, I am just now recently realizing the effects to which a “consumption” driven society effects my life. I think we have always been encouraged to strive for “more.”
More money. More friends. More fame. More everything.
This trickles into everything that we do and think about.
But we should not always have this “more” mindset.
Writing, for example (at least in my mind), is much better when it as short as possible.
But in today’s society, we strive for more words to accomplish the same goal as a few sentences would.
Being simple is hard.
