How to Send A Thank You Email

If anyone ever gives you a segment of their time, no matter who they are, it is important to express your gratification…I think so few people take this seriously as it is very rare in fact to receive a strong thank you email. This is all the more reason to make the simple time investment in crafting up a concise email and thanking someone!

It literally takes 30 seconds and will help you form stronger relationships…here is a basic framework I use:

Hi NAME OF PERSON,

I wanted to thank you so much for taking the time to chat. I really appreciated your perspective on X SPECIFIC THING, as well as Y SPECIFIC THING.

CALL TO ACTION IF THERE IS A FOLLOW UP

I will be sure to stay in touch. Please do let me know if I can be helpful in the meantime.

Your Name

I think this framework does a few things well…the specific things show that you were paying close attention to the call. The call to action can be used if you want to send any links or resources or have any specific asks after your call. And the whole email is very concise and to the point! I think people like that…
