It has been fun to see the viral growth of HQTrivia.
I remember a few months ago, I downloaded the app and tuned into a few games when there were just 1–5k people playing. My younger brother even won a game! Now there are near 1 million people and it is getting exciting.
We saw the other day that Jimmy Kimmel hosted the gameshow. I think this is the first of many celebrity integrations that we will see. Elon Musk. Professional Athletes. Company Executives.
I think they will also soon integrate the audiences front-facing cameras and microphones so people can react to questions.
This will bring a whole new meaning to immersive, mobile live-streaming. People will keep on watching the game as the reactions will be really funny. People will try and get featured for their reactions.
It has been fun to see this game take over both my school and internet-network. Houseparty did the same (but has since died down).
What will be next?
I do not pretend to be a consumer-social expert because I will admit I am most certainly not.
