PrioritizationReflecting on what is important to you is a great way to prioritize your life.
Reflecting on what is important to you is a great way to prioritize your life.
The problem is that, often we do this (with granularity), we realize that the way we spend our time does not align with the priorities we define in our heads.
Our actions do not match our words.
We want to get in shape, but we will not sacrifice healthy food for chocolate cake.
We want to get a job, but we will not sacrifice an episode of Netflix.
When our priorities are clearly defined and laid out, it becomes obvious what we have to do to meet them. And when we match this up, we capture our most valuable asset — our time.
We get our time back because every moment we are doing things is a direct product of things we actually want to be doing.
I make it clear that it is completely up to you as to what your priorities are.
Most people lie to themselves though and fool themselves into thinking they are aligned when the truth is they are not.
Not every sacrifice should be for “societally imposed” good and bad.
Rarely are these examples presented:
We want to watch Netflix, but we will not sacrifice hanging out with friends.
We want to eat cake, but we will not sacrifice our health.
Do what you want to do!
