Being Hypocritical Does Not Make You Wrong

In discussions or arguments, I try my best to focus-in on the truth. This is easier said than done, but it is something I strongly believe in – the truth should always win and the point of an argument is to make the truth apparent.

An important addendum is that it is also important to be agnostic to how / who gets to the solution. With this lens, I do my best to balance logic and  reasoning – but every so often I run into “blockers” that I view as irrational.

Irrationality is not absolute. It is all contextual.

This is a pet peeve of mine, but I want to get it out there so here I am writing about it: “being a hypocrite does not make you wrong.”

I have heard this push back before…”it would be hypocritical if we did this or how can you say this? That is hypocritical.”

I feel like hypocritical is a sunk cost. It does not change the truth.

This is just one example how noise can make it harder to help the truth win.
