I have big goals. While I am (perhaps a bit irrationally) confident that I will get to them, there is a chance I don’t.
And if I don’t do what I want to do…it will be because of an internal, NOT an external blocker.
I asked myself the question…
What are the biggest blockers in your life ?
Is it time? Money? Desire?
The conclusion that I came to is that no external blocker will be bale to stop me from achieving whatever I want to do. I define these “external” forces as things out of my control.
External blockers can only delay, not prevent.
I think that it is really easy to let external blockers delay you until you run out of motivation. And then attribute the failure (excuse) to that externality.
While in reality, the cause is lack of motivation or caring or whatever it is.
I subscribe to the idea that if you want something bad enough (internally) you will never run out of motivation and you will get there. It can become much harder and perhaps less gratifying if external forces get in the way, but it’s possible.
In summary: there is no excuse I can make for not being able to do something other than a personal shortcoming.
